“I was lucky enough to achieve my life-long goal of working with big cats. For a month I was interacting with lion and tigers cubs, some as young as 7 weeks old! Working with them, gave me the chance to have a very intimate bond with the cubs. It was a magical experience I will never forget. Seaview is an amazing place, with amazing animals and helpful staff. I am now saving up to return again for a longer period of time!” – Maya, aged 26 – from England.
“It was a great experience for me and I will never forget it. It was awesome amazing fantastic.” – A from Austria
“Volunteering at Seaview has been one of the best experiences of my life, which is why I’ve returned so often! Not only is it incredibly interesting to learn how to care for the animals and their behaviour, but also lions and tigers give the best hugs! Every day is enjoyable and you can’t help falling in love with each and every cub. I have also been blessed to work with such lovely staff and fellow volunteers; I have made friends for life. I simply cannot wait to get back out to the park.” – Chloe Silverwood, United Kingdom.
“I volunteered at Seaview Lion Park for six weeks and I wish I could double and triple my time spent there. I came without any early knowledge and only with enormous love for animals and especially cats with lions at the top. I soon realised that this is not an ordinary place from every aspect. The warm and welcoming treatment that I received from the workers is not a trivial matter. Every question, problem, suggestion, they are there to listen and assist. The wide knowledge and experience that they’ve established is overwhelming. Every day I learned something new and created a lifetime memories. The motif that motivates this great park is the remarkable love for those wonderful animals. I’m very grateful to have known this unique place and to be able to try and contribute what I can. My volunteering has transformed from a one-time experience to deep longings, until my next visit.” – Inbal Tiano (Israel – 2011)
“The summer of 2009 my dream of going to Africa came true. I found out about Seaview Lion Park through the Internet. I was looking for a different kind of trip to Africa. I didn’t want to stay in a hotel; I was looking for something special. I started to search online for places where I could work with animals as a volunteer. And I found it. I found a place with amazing animals, and wonderful people. I arrived at Seaview the 21st June 2009, and I stayed for 4 weeks. My first week we had horrible weather and few volunteers, but it was still worth it. We had a lion group at 4 weeks; Macsen, Melissa, Erin and Preston, and five lions at around 5 months; Abello, Marli, Dutch, Shannon and Imani. After the first week, the weather cleared up, we got more volunteers and many great experiences. All of the volunteers got along great, and we got to be a great group of people. I loved working with the lions. They are amazing. The sounds they make, all the lion hugs you get, walking them, watch them grow up to be big and powerful. It’s a great feeling to sit by the restaurant, watching giraffes, zebras and wildebeests roam free in the park, and hear all the lions roar. It’s fun to play with the meerkats (even though they bite) and it’s nice to play cards and have a barbeque with the other volunteers. One of the best experiences for me was when one of the lionesses gave birth to 4 beautiful boys; Cliff, Finn, Riley and Zulu. We got to see them with their mother for a few days, which to me was special. Then we got to care for them, and got to know them. Leaving Seaview is hard, and once back home you miss the park every day.
I went home in July, and returned to the park at the end of September that same year. It was great to meet some of the same people as I met earlier, and to see all the lions again. The babies had grown a lot, and some new babies had been born. This time it was tiger babies; Sasha and Zoya. I also returned to the park in June 2010, and stayed for two weeks. I got to know the tigers Sho Sho and Faye, the leopards Louie and Ella, new baby lions Carrie, Fufa, Tom and Noam. And I got to see my baby boys again. This time huge and beautiful boys, Cliff, Riley, Zulu, Macsen and Preston. I only have good things to say about the park and the people who work there, and I’m looking forward to many more visits.” – Christin Witzøe, aged 23, Norway.
“I first heard of Seaview Lion Park at work through another friend who is also a veterinary nurse. I have always wanted to experience working with big cats as a veterinary nurse and felt Seaview would be very beneficial for me. My first trip to Seaview was in February 2010. I had a fantastic time and met great people who have now become good friends. I knew that I would go back as I had such an amazing time. I then returned to Seaview in July 2010 and stayed for a month followed by another two weeks in January 2011. Every day at the park is a great experience and you can’t help but fall in love with every animal. Even waking to the rumble of the lions roars in the morning and seeing the giraffe’s, wildebeests, zebra’s & various antelope walking around is breathtaking. I love every part of Seaview including hugs from the lions and tigers & I love getting to talk to visitors about the animals at Seaview and explain about each and everyone of them. I will always have fond and lifelong memories of Seaview and will continue to be a regular visitor.” – Jen Lowe, Hertfordshire, UK

“My First Day- I couldn’t believe it. I was in with and able to interact with 8 month old lion cubs. Every day became better and better. THE ELEVATED VIEWS! Fantastic! Incredible! Panoramic views of the ocean one direction, the other direction overlooks bush, see the sun rise in the morning and the sun setting in the evening. And then my dream came true – baby tiger cubs of 3 weeks were rescued and had to be nursed by us volunteers!” D from Scotland
